I have been playing the piano now for almost 19 years (a pretty scary
thought given how I play - some people become concert pianists in half the
time). Ever since I owned a keyboard/synthesizer I played in bands. First
with my cousins and my brother (band's
name: "Let's dance"). Then with my brother and some of
his friends ("Spade Heart and the Diamond Club" - hope
you get the name because noone in Austria did).
In 1991 I started to produce music for commercial videos together with my
friend (a truly gifted piano player) Christian Teltscher. In 1992 we produced
the music for 12 commercial videos about Austria for the EXPO 92 in Seville,
Spain.
In 1992 I also started to work for a small Viennese sound studio. The owner,
Alexander Mantz, became a very good friend and we started to produce a series
of CDs. In January 1994 we published the CD "Easy"
(86k), which you can here listen to. Unfortunately not a huge commercial
success. (What do you think, after listening to it for 5 (!) seconds?)
During the spring of 1994 I co-produced a CD for a Viennese dance company,
"Sisters United". Their song "3 Shots"
(77k) was a small hit in Austria and got a lot of airtime.
After I started B-School in the U.S., Alexander went on and wrote and produced
another CD for "Sisters United", titled "Sisters
United!" (149k). In my opinion a very danceable song. Judge for
yourself.
Since last December (1995) I am again playing with a band ("Nick
Dynamite and the Detonators"). The band was formed to play this
year's B-School Follies but we had so much fun that we kept on jamming.
On March 13, 1996 and April 4, 1996, we played @ Rick's American Cafe in
Ann Arbor. From the feedback we got (and I mean from people not from amps)
the shows were pretty good.
This is my unofficial musical biography. I hope I will be able to add a
few more items to this list in the years to come.
All sound-bites are definitely worth checking out!
